Brent C. Bakke with 28 years of hands-on field level experience in emergency services is the lead instructor and consultant with Tactical Hazmat & Consulting. Brent started out his service career in the Canadian Armed Forces after which he pursued his passion for a fire career by joining the City of Camrose Fire Department where he also worked for the City of Camrose EMS. During this time he also volunteered countless hours over the years as an auxiliary RCMP member with the Killam (AB), and Wetaskiwin (AB) Rural RCMP Detachments.

Brent found his ultimate career passion when he discovered Hazmat. During the last 18 years, he has become an IFSAC-ProBoard NFPA 472 accredited Hazmat technician, Highway Emergency Response Specialist, Advanced Tank Car Specialist, Chlorine Response Specialist, NFPA Fire Service Instructor, ICS 100-200, Crude by Rail Firefighting, as well as several other Hazmat and safety related courses. Brent received this technical training from such schools as, The Alberta Fire Training Center, Fire Etc, Justice Institute of British Columbia, ERTC-SERTC Pueblo, Colorado, and The Mississippi State Fire Academy.

During his Hazmat career Brent has attended and been a key part of many high profile large scale Hazmat incidents, these incidents included large evacuations, being seconded by a regulatory agency to a Fire-Hazmat site, and responding to all nine classes of TDG in both urban and rural environments. Brent has also been part of the Alberta Provincial Hazmat Exam questions validations.
